{Happy Saint Patrick's Day!}

It's been a fun weekend. Seeing Trent so excited about Prom was a highlight. And Stake Conference was another. Our Stake consists of eight wards. I can stand in various windows in my house and see every single house in our Stake. There are lots and lots of Mormons clustered in this little neighborhood of ours. We love that. Stake Conference is broadcast via closed satellite feed from the Stake Center to two other buildings. (Both of which are within a couple minutes walk of each other.) Anyway, Stake Conference gets pretty crowded and the members are strongly discouraged from saving seats. Imagine how silly we felt this morning when we got to the Stake Center and found the first two rows reserved for the families of the Stake Presidency. It was just a little awkward walking in past all of the people who had been in their seats for a half hour or more and settling into our seats in the front row. I don't know...

Anyway, the meeting was inspiring and I thought Ricky did so well on his talk. (But no bias here.) He wasn't given a subject to speak on so after lots of praying and pondering over the last few weeks he settled on Missionary Work, emphasizing to the youth the importance of preparing now to serve. His talk was preceded by talks from two Sisters who have their mission calls and are preparing to enter the MTC in the next couple of months. One of the girls is going to the Florida Tampa Mission and I love her. She just makes me happy. The people in Florida are going to LOVE her! :)

While we were tidying up our area after Stake Conference was over I pulled the "Reserved" signs off the benches and brought them home to stake out mine and Ricky's spots at the dinner table. I think I'm funny. By the way, a cool whip cake that I tinted green and a green sweater and tie here and there were as festive as we got today. :)

***Edited Post***

After seeing this post, my cute friend Jennifer (Taylor's Mom) sent me these pics that she took! Thanks Jenn!!!

Trent and Alli meeting Taylor and his date at Taylor's...

A little street hockey fun...

 And Prom Callouts at Westlake...

{Westlake High School Prom 2013}

I wish I had pictures of everything these cute kids did on their "Prom Day". The boys spent weeks planning all they would do to make their girls feel special. The day included trampoline fun at Lowe's Xtreme, a salad bar lunch at our house (which we were not present for), games at Taylor's house, enough time to get ready, posing for pictures outside of Taylor's before the parents hurried off to Stake Conference (at which Ricky rocked his talk I might add), pre-Prom pictures at Westlake, dinner at Tucanos, and finally the dance.

On his way to pick up his lovely date, Alli...

...and from the PhotoStream, here is Superhero Gavin...

{Leprechaun Trap}

Brant stayed up last night to help Gavin build this leprechaun trap to bring to school today. I hope he catches one...

{Prom Sashes}

Riley was asked/volunteered to make the sashes for Prom this weekend. She brought the ribbon home from school, sewed it up, designed the letters in the silhouette program, cut the special fabric vinyl, and ironed it on. I think she could do just about anything...

{Sunset Reflection}

Sometimes in the evening, the sunset in the western sky reflects off the snow covered Mount Timpanogos, offering us this beautiful sight. That combined with the warm air and neighborhood kids playing everywhere made this a very pleasant evening to be outside...

{Afternoon at Alta}

With Daylight Savings yesterday, we took advantage of the extra hour of daylight (and warmth!!) and spent the afternoon at Alta. School ended early, Ricky took a couple hours off, I rescheduled some piano lessons, and we enjoyed a very uncrowded Alta Ski Resort.
This time I took the big kids up on the lifts while Ricky helped the little guys practice their skills...
Lance and Gavin are getting better and better and more and more confident...
On our way up...
Silly kids, ready to go...
