{Cheering for the home team}
So apparently Brant's class really gets into Battle of the Books. Who knew? Or maybe it's just Brant who loves a competition... any competition. The team from his class beat all of the other 5th grade teams and will be taking on the champion 6th grade team today. Brant isn't actually competing - that would require him to read for pleasure which he doesn't do. He is, however, going to be cheering for his buddies who are on the team. He came home yesterday and asked me to make him a t-shirt to wear for "the Battle". I had some yellow t-shirt vinyl laying around and we took one of Trent's old shirts, turned it inside-out and made this one-time-use shirt. The team name is Bomberos ("firefighters" in Spanish). Brant just might be their biggest fan. Have I ever mentioned that since Brant is in his 4th year of Spanish Immersion, they only speak Spanish in his classroom? In fact they have never even heard their teacher speak English. True Story.

Also, Riley played in her last indoor soccer game of the season tonight. Her team finished in second place and she was in the league's top five for number of goals scored. Also a true story...
