{Christmas Eve!!!}
It started snowing early this morning. We've had plenty of snow so far this winter, but to have it come down so quietly and gently on Christmas Eve made today even more special.
Jack came over to help Ricky and Trent move Ricky's new gun safe up to our closet...
We spent the rest of the day tidying up the house and enjoying the day with each other and nowhere to be...
After dinner, the boys couldn't wait any longer so we let them open the traditional "one present" before we left to see the lights at Thanksgiving Point. Lance and Brant have been dying to know what was inside the presents that Ricky's mom sent from Alabama. They were thrilled to find that she had made them each an Alabama fleece blanket. I thought these were such sweet gifts especially considering how much time it must have taken her to tie the edges on all those blankets...
Seeing the lights at Thanksgiving Point is a favorite Christmas tradition in our family. The most special part to us, especially on this Christmas Eve night, is the end of the drive where they have set up a pictoral narration of "The Nativity Song" from the Primary song book. It is so beautiful and so reverent...
On nights like tonight, we miss our far away family terribly. We pray that they are all happy and safe. As we gathered around our Christmas tree on this most special night of the year, we were humbled by the knowledge of our Savior. We know that He came into the world to show us the way that we may live with Him and all those we hold dear forever someday. And that, my friends, is that magic of Christmas for us. Merry Christmas!
