100th Day of School

Last Thursday was the 100th day of school and Brant's assignment was to bring 100 of something to celebrate the occasion. He decided he wanted to make something with 100 Legos so he and I set to work Wed. night building a really cool tower. This was not such an easy task considering that every few legos we put on, Brant insisted on starting from one and counting to make sure we knew exactly how many we had so far. When we were finished we set it carefully on the floor by his bedroom door so it would be ready for the next day.

Well, Thursday morning when he woke up, Brant decided the sculpture wasn't cool enough and wanted to build something else. Of course, I was like "sorry, Buddy, not happenin'." But Trent, in true nice big brother form, told Brant he'd help him. So, Trent took some extra time, told his buddies to go on when they came to pick him up to walk to school, and helped Brant build this super-cool creation:

Thanks, Trent - You're the best! (Gavin seems really impressed.)

Brant looks so grown up in these pictures. The 100th day of school was little more anti-climactic for us this year. NO parades, no bringing in 100 of anything, no 100 jumping jacks in PE. Payton did get to take 100 bites of ice cream in her class and Taylor colored a picture of a $100 bill and wrote what they would do with it if they had a real one. Taylor said she would be 20 dresses for her and her sisters.
