Today we drove from St. George about 40 minutes into the main part of Zion N. P. We took the shuttle bus all the way to the top where we hiked a trail that runs along the Virgin River. On the map it said the trail was handicap accessible so we figured we would be fine in our new stroller that I bought last week from my neighbor. (Thanks, Lyn!) The hike is supposed to take about an hour and a half. It took us four hours. That's the great thing about being on vacation - no hurry. We stopped at every rock that Trent wanted to climb and when we got to the top, we stayed up there for about two hours. We ate our picnic lunch up there and let the kids play along the stream for as long as they wanted to.
Here is a picture of all of us at the end of the trail:
Here is Gavin with Flat Taylor. It was fun to take her with us on all our adventures. After I took this picture, Gavin tried to rip her head off. Don't worry, Taylor, I rescued you!
We didn't have a specific plan for meeting up with our friends, the Scoresbys. We figured we would catch up with them at the hotel. We were surprised and very excited when we saw them hiking on the same trail. Here are Riley and Brant with Spencer, Olivia and Rilee S.
After we finished our hike, we drove through the famous Zion Tunnel that was built in the 1930s. I didn't take any pictures of the tunnel, but here are some pics of the scenery along the way. The sky really was that blue.
