Friday, August 15, Trent officially became a middle-schooler. He attends Willow Creek Middle School where they told us at orientation this seventh grade class is the largest seventh grade class in the state of Utah and in the history of the state of Utah. School doesn't actually start until Monday, but they had the seventh graders come one day early by themselves so they can get the hang of the middle-school thing without the big bad eighth and ninth-graders shoving them in lockers and stealing their lunches and stuff.
Good thing Trent has his buddy Jack to protect him. I'm just kidding, of course. Trent is super-excited to finally be in Middle School. He's got the locker figured out and with the help of his handy-dandy map, he can find all his classes.
Here are he and Jack walking to the bus on the first day. I don't know why I didn't take a picture of Trent by himself. He and Jack are just always together. By the way, I offered to drive them to school on the first day, but they WANTED to ride the bus.
Here are all of the seventh-graders from our little part of Harvest Hills. I told them I wanted to take their picture today and then in three (way too short) years when they start high school we could see how much they have changed. I think these kids are so cute. They have been through fifth and sixth grades together at Harvest Elementary and now they get to start this new journey together. The boys definitely have the advantage here. Let's see...two girls for every guy (almost)...Sweet! Have a great year, kids! Sniff...Sniff...
