The Thrill of Victory

Until the Saturday before last, the thrill of victory had eluded this team of 1st and 2nd Graders. That all changed when they took on the team from Lehi and finally got their first win of the year! The season is about half over now, I think, and they have played some pretty tough (and BIG) teams. Brant is enjoying every minute of the now only three 2-hour practices a week and the games on Saturday. He scored (Is that how you say it in football?) a touchdown in the first couple minutes of the first game.

These first two pictures are from their game against Juan Diego in Sandy. Brant thought he was big-time cool playing on a turf field. During the game, Lance kept asking me if we were at the BYU field where we went to see the Stadium of Fire.

Here are Brant and Jake after their first win.

Here they are in the huddle after the game. Their coaches are congratulating them on beating that team from Lehi with the hot-headed clone coaches. Anybody who was at the game will know what I'm talking about. Seriously, guys, they're six and seven-years old.

After the game, Brant quickly took of his helmet and put back on his Alabama hat. And then Gavin stole his drink.

Go Spartans.......and Roll Tide!

Why did you have to make me cry again? I would give anything to see that little guy play football, pads and all! The best part is to see him wear that Alabama hat with pride. Tell Lance that the BYU stadium is where the "little" boys play, the real men play at Bryan-Denny Stadium. Who names a stadium after a guy named LaVell, anyway?
