New Year's Promises

Last week Annie and I were hanging out talking about nothing and our conversation led to pictures and our blogs and we decided to commit to each other that we would take a picture everyday in 2011 and post it on our blog for the other to see. We even high-fived on it, so that means we will do it for sure. Annie, of course, has followed through on our promise. I, on the other hand, have had a slow start because we were travelling during the New Year's holiday. Then, when we got home, we didn't have internet because we cancelled our service with Digis before we left and signed on with Qwest, but they didn't connect us until last Friday. Sooo... I'm making up for lost time.

New Year's Day was our last full day in Alabama and we had the party that we have been waiting five years to have... an Alabama Football Party! We got to watch the Capitol One Bowl with the Emmertsons... for real... in person. Alabama won - by a lot - and that made us forget that we were sad about leaving the next day, for a minute. After the game Annie and I set up a little chocolate fountain party for dinner, I mean, afternoon snack. The kids snacked and played while the grown-ups packed and talked about the trip. Chocolate and cousins... now that's a great way to start the year.
