Birthday Boy

The Benham Family birthday season kicked off today with Brant turning 10. He has been so cute about his birthday coming up. He didn't want a friends party, just a movie night with the family and dinner at Red Robin. Birthday tradition dictated that he be woken up by siblings bearing gifts on birthday morning. As I prepared his birthday breakfast and waited for the others to wake up, Gavin snuggled up on the counter...

The birthday wake-up was a little tricky this morning because Trent was all ready for school (except for his shirt) and Riley and Lance had to be pulled out of bed...
Lance was so excited to give Brant the gift he picked out for him... a new movie to watch for movie night...
Later, we met Mimi, Opa, and Uncle Dave at Red Robin for dinner.

Birthday night ended at home with cake and more presents. Brant wanted to have his movie night on Friday, but at about 5:30 Friday night, I was preparing a special dinner for him when his buddy Will called. He came in and asked if he could go to Will's. I reminded him that we were having his "birthday party" and he said he would rather go hang out with Will. Since he was the birthday boy, I said he could go to Will's if he really wanted to. Ricky and I went out to celebrate Valentine's Day early and we saved the special dinner for the next day when we would celebrate Gavin's birthday. We're pretty spontaneous like that.
