Tomorrow is the day we celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday. Lance gets to bring a few books to school for the read-a-thon in his class. He read a couple to Gavin before he put them in his backpack. As I've mentioned before, Lance doesn't LOVE to read. He mostly tolerates doing it because he has to. Last month his famously awesome teacher challenged her students to read 1200 minutes each during the month. Lance took the challenge mostly because I made him do it. He read 1200 minutes plus some and together as a class, they logged more that 34,000 minutes! Mrs. Jorgensen rewarded them with an ice cream party with the principal, but the biggest reward was the confidence they built as they read for almost 45 minutes each day.
