{Saratoga Splash}
We took full advantage of the beautiful weather and celebrated our awesome city for the ENTIRE day. First up was the parade...
Trent and Payton stayed home for this one, but the rest of us made the short drive to the next neighborhood over and watched the parade roll. Gavin stood there just like this the whole time and waved at every float. Here comes the Saratoga Springs royalty led by the lovely Nicole Calder, Miss Saratoga Springs 2011. We cheered for the Westlake marching band, the Harvest Hills Jump Team, and many more people we know. Our favorite paraders were the Westlake Thunder Youth Football players. The director is a fellow Alabama fan, so when we yelled "Roll Tide" he threw Riley a Westlake shirt.
Next up was the Saratoga Splash Festival at the park by our house. We walked around visiting with friends, played some games, and staked out a spot for the evening concert. Meanwhile, Riley and Taylor enjoyed watching some local dancers.
When it was time for dinner, Annie and I went to grab the picnic basket and we ate and waited for the show...
At dark, the concert started. The opening band was our favorite. They played covers of some of our favorite songs including "Sweet Home Alabama." Then "TRUMAN" took the stage and we sat back and enjoyed the cooler temperatures and beautiful mountains. Not bad for a summer night in our little one-horse town.
