{Street Parade}
Yesterday the kids set up some chairs along the front lawn because they wanted to have a baseball game. We put the kibosh on that idea since Brant is the only one who can throw or catch, really. In the meantime, a neighbor walked by and said, "Oh, are you having a parade?". We looked at each other and said, "No, but..... yeah! Let's have a parade!". And so we did. Don't you just love summer and all of the reasons to celebrate? We had already decided that we would do most of our 4th of July celebrating on the 2nd since Annie is leaving early on the 5th to go back to Bama. So, we decided it would be the perfect night for a parade. We got the neighbors on board, the girls passed out invitations, and there you have it... a parade was born. We hope to make it an annual tradition.
Before the parade, Mimi, Opa, and Dave came over to celebrate...
Ricky made dutch oven peach cobbler...
And we sat on the porch watching the kids decorate their bikes...
Later, these cute girls came over looking for Riley and Trent. They took Taylor, too, and went to play kickball until time for fireworks...
