{A little "La Fiesta" of our own}

Brant has been in the Spanish Immersion class with the exact same kids for four years now. They know each other and treat each other like brothers and sisters. It is really fun to watch and it was for that reason that I decided that an End-of-the-School-Year party was in order. Brant and I made invitations, planned some games, and invited the whole class. A couple were sick and a couple more had a dance recital, but 25 out 30 of them came and we had serious fun! There was plenty of food, and with a new game up my sleeve every time the one before died down, this is definitely something we'll do again. Their favorite game by far was "Guess the Baby". I had the moms e-mail a baby picture the week before and Ricky put them into a little slide show for the kids to watch and guess who was who...
The highlight of the night was when Sr. Smithee (their teacher) showed up with a pack of mint Oreos. The funny part was that there was very little Spanish spoken before Teacher (who has never spoken to them in English) came in, then all of a sudden everyone was talking and I had no idea what they were saying. They could have been telling Sr. Smithee that this was the lamest party ever for all I know...
We replayed the slide show for him to guess which baby was which and he didn't do too bad...
Such nice soon-to-be 6th graders...
