{Sun, glorious SUN!}
This month of January has, I think, been the worst weather-wise in the seven years that we have lived here. The temperature inversion has been brutal and we have literally not seen the sun or sky for more than a few minutes at a time in weeks. The news is saying that our valley has the worst air quality in the country right now. Really it is just a small not-so-fun thing that we deal with for a few weeks, compared to the beauty and great weather that we get most of the year. Today was a school and work holiday for everyone (MLK Day) so we decided to drive to Park City for some fresh air. As we drove up Parley's Canyon, it was crazy to drive through the smog until we drove past the Lambs Canyon exit. That was where we literally came right out of the dirty air and saw the sun and the beautiful blue sky. Lambs Canyon sits at about 6300 feet above sea level, compared to our 4500. So I guess that layer of yuck is hanging stubbornly at about 6000 or so feet. Weird, huh? Anyway, I think this picture says it all...
We stopped first at a park behind a Middle School at Kimball Junction...
When the sun sank behind the hill, we drove around the corner and into Park City, looking for another park. As we drove, we noticed a strange sight...a heated turf soccer field, so we got out to take a closer look...
Sure enough, it had snow piled all around it, but not a speck of it could be found on the field...
Lance was thrilled to be able to do back handsprings over and over again. Almost like summer...almost...
Next to the field is a cool park, alot like our own Neptune Park. We played on it until we couldn't see anymore, then headed over to Cold Stone for some ice cream.
