{Spring Break Day 1}
We left for St. George early this morning dressed in our Sunday clothes because our first stop will be the St. George Temple. We haven't participated in ordinances here before so the kids are super excited to have this experience. Ricky and I will trade off watching the little boys on the Temple grounds. Dave is meeting us in St. George, as well. It will be so nice to spend this time with him. He'll go check us into our campground then meet us at the Temple.
Trent has a favorite spot from which to photograph the Temple. He found it when they were down here a couple of weeks ago and couldn't wait to return here to use his new camera...
The day was perfect to walk around and explore the grounds. Of course, Gavin made friends with all of the missionaries in the Visitor's Center.
After the Temple, we headed up to Pioneer Park for some rappelling. Trent and Dave took off down the face of the Dixie Rock first thing...
Then the rest of us went down the back side of the rock...
Brant...
Dave...
Lance was a little nervous at first, but with a little help from Ricky and a small monetary bribe (not even kidding - every kid has their currency) he mustered up the courage...
Everyone at the bottom cheered him on...
Then, we moved over to another area that was a little harder.
Trent led the way...
...followed by Brant...
...then Riley...
Ricky and the little boys spotted everyone at the bottom, then it was our turn. Ricky, Dave, me...
When we left Pioneer Park, we stopped into a cute Mexican Dive down the street named after one of our favorite country songs, Pancho and Lefty's. :) Unfortunately, we didn't make it to our campsite before it got dark, so we had to set up camp by the light of our car's headlamps. It was worth it, though. Such a fun day. And everyone was so happy to finally crash for the night...
